The PERCEPTION 220 is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern, designed to meet the needs of a modern home studio and radio applications. It features a one-inch diaphragm bearing the AKG signature construction and an electronic circuit that, unlike the general trend in microphones of this price category, includes a discrete transformer. The combination of these features makes the PERCEPTION 220 behave and sound like a more expensive microphone. It includes a -20dB attenuation switch and a low-frequency cutoff filter switch. These features make the PERCEPTION 220 resistant to very high acoustic pressures (155 dB SPL), allowing its use with electric instrument amplifiers and coverage of concerts where acoustic pressures are high. *Includes shock mount and metal carrying case.
