The Sela Iconic Cajon with Limba playing surface is a real game changer for percussionists as it combines three instruments in a single Cajon. The interchangeable drum heads, known as ions, are located on the side walls of these innovative cajons. Each ion has its own percussion sound. The Cajon is supplied with Cuban ion and Turkish ion as standard. Three further variants are optionally available: Guinean ion, Kenyan ion and Peruvian ion. Cuban ion The Cuban drum head, inspired by Afro-Cuban percussion, is handmade from 100% natural goatskin.Each skin is unique in thickness and colour.For more flexibility and durability, we recommend treating the skin with vegetable fat.This allows the sound to be adapted to the individual playing style. Turkish ion The Turkish ion, inspired by Turkish percussion, is equipped with a blue or green synthetic skin that is insensitive to moisture and climatic conditions. It is very light and should be protected from sharp objects. The low thickness ensures high responsiveness and a strong sound projection with powerful mids and bright highs. It is particularly suitable for the ‘Turkish playing technique’.
