Description
The MELOS rosin has been tested and functions successfully under any conditions, designed separately for each instrument. For this reason, it is produced in two different types: “blond”-“light” and “dark.” The “blond”-“light” rosin is used more for high environmental temperatures (spring or summer) for softer playing or solo performances in chamber music. The “dark” rosin is used more for lower environmental temperatures (fall or winter) for a “full” playing style, for orchestras, or for solo performances in large concerts. However, it always depends on each musician’s playing style. For Greek bowed instruments, such as the Pontian lyra, Cretan lyra, and Politiki lyra, two types of rosin are also produced, “blond” and “dark.” For a “softer” playing style, the “blond” rosin is recommended, while for a “stronger” playing style, the “dark” rosin is suggested. For the Politiki lyra, the “blond” rosin is recommended, and for the Cretan lyra, the “dark” rosin is suggested. Again, it depends on each musician’s playing style. In this way, the MELOS rosin, in all hardness grades, provides what every demanding musician truly seeks: a high-quality sound.
